Pinocchio is the new live action version of the famous novel by Carlo Collodi directed by Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hanks. This is the review.
The meek and kind carpenter Geppetto creates a wooden puppet with the features of a child to whom he gives the name Pinocchio . The Blue Fairy , after hearing the desire that Geppetto expressed, gives life to the puppet guaranteeing him that, if he were to prove to be good, courageous and disinterested, one day he could become a real child with the help of the Jiminy Cricket who has become his conscience . pro tempore.
After realizing with immense happiness the magic that has taken place, Geppetto sends Pinocchio to school, but on the way the puppet meets the deceptive Cat and Fox who convince him to join the Mangiafuoco puppet show with the promise of fame and money. Actually revealed to be evil and unscrupulous, Pinocchio - Although he has met the puppet Sabina operated by the kind Fabiana , assistant to Mangiafuoco - he manages to escape with the help of Jiminy Cricket .
On the way home, however, he runs into Postiglione who is collecting listless boys to lead them to the Land of Toys where the wildest fun reigns. Made friends with Candlewick , in the Land of Toys Pinocchio will discover the cruel truth of the place and, before turning into a donkey, returns home to his father who, however, not seeing him return and having learned where he has gone, is in the meantime went in search of it. Reunited at sea, the two will have to clash with a fearsome sea monster: will Pinocchio be able to prove that he is worthy of becoming a real child?
